VERONA: The city of Verona is a major tourist destination, visited annually by more than 3 million people thanks to its richness in arts and architecture, and numerous international events. The roman amphitheater "Arena di Verona" is the most famous monument and has become a symbol of the city itself, it is the third Roman amphitheater in Italy for size, but the best preserved among them. It is known for the Scaligero Castle and the typical white wine that bears his name. The Medieval Castle of Soave, which belonged to the estate of Della Scala, is a fortification that has marked the history of the town in the province of Verona. The origins of this monumental fortification probably date from the early tenth century.
